What’s Holding You Back?

In business we all face daily, weekly, monthly and annual challenges. Some of these are massive challenges and some of them are minor – it will vary from one person to the next. Some of us get past these challenges and some of us don’t.

If you look at what challenges that bug you daily it’s probably things like:

Not getting enough done

Feeling swamped

Feeling distracted

Disappointment that your business hasn’t moved further

Anger that you’ve fallen behind on tasks that only take minutes to complete
Firstly these are all negative in nature. Lots of can’t, won’t, don’t, didn’t, shouldn’t etc. This kind of negative “self talk” is not the best way to approach or finish any given day in your own business. It sets the wrong tone. When looking at the day ahead or at your work at the end of a day always be grateful for whatever you achieved that day – you’ll feel better for it.

But I digress. We’re meant to be looking at challenges and what causes these huge hurdles. Here’s the biggest secret of what holds you back in business…… Drum Roll….. the single biggest thing holding you back from achieving what you truly want is…… YOU!

Yes. More often than not you are the single biggest hurdle between you and success. You create the circumstances, both positive and negative. You create the outcome. You creat the excuses to not getting things done. You waste time on activities that don’t benefit either you or your business. You waste time on people who do nothing but cause you trouble. You start projects that will only distract you from those that are truly profitable.

Oh I know you’ll point the finger at other people and say “but.. but.. it’s their fault…..” Perhaps. What have you done about it though? Sat there and complained or taken positive action to change the circumstances you find yourself in? More often than not people will simply sit and complain about a situation but rarely take any action to change it.

You are the creator of your own reality. You can either create your own success or destroy it. It’s entirely up to you.

Creating A Home Office In Your Garage

Making the most of your garage and converting it into a home office is a good idea. You obviously don’t want to just put a desk, chair, a computer and telephone right in the middle of all the usual garage junk do you? Make sure that you properly convert at least part of the garage into an office space. How can you do that? Well you could start by using a partition wall to separate one corner of the garage from everything else in there. This will save on the labor costs of erecting permanent walls but still gives you the peace and quiet you’ll need to work properly. This is possible only if, of course, you have enough space in the garage itself.

Thought For Today

If you believe you can or you cannot then both are equally true…………
