Hewlett Packard laptops are well-trusted for everything from computing needs to large-scale business operations.
The HP mini is a product on the rise, and has been boasting pretty strong performance for such a tiny package. HP is a brand that many people feel comfortable purchasing for their most demanding computer needs-find out why!
The Hewlett Packard company was founded in a one-car garage in Palo Alto, California by Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard and now operates in nearly every country, specializing in developing and manufacturing computing, data storage, networking hardware, designing software and delivering services.
Both Hewlett and Packard graduated in electrical engineering from Stanford University in 1935, and started their business with a capital investment of $538. A coin toss determined whether the company would be named Hewlett-Packard or Packard-Hewlett. Hewlett Packard incorporated in 1947 and went public ten years later on November 6, 1957. The Walt Disney Company was one of HP's earliest customers back when they were manufacturing signal generators, voltmeters and oscilloscopes. Their major product lines include personal computing devices as well as a very diverse range of printers. Hewlett Packard's net revenue in 2009 was $115 billion, which represents a $21 billion dollar lead on their major competitor, IBM.
Personal Computers
Hewlett Packard is the producer of the world's first widely-marketed, mass-produced personal computer which was first introduced in 1968 and called a desktop calculator. Steve Wozniak, the co-founder of Apple was working at HP when he designed the first Apple computer.
After offering it to HP and being turned down, he found another partner, Steve Jobs, and, as they say, the rest is history where Apple is concerned. Hewlett Packard introduced inkjet and laser printers in the early 1980's. History was made when HP registered the HP.com domain name in 1986, making it the 9th .com domain to ever be registered. 2001 saw a merger between Hewlett Packard and Compaq-a rocky merger as it turned out because Bill Hewlett's son, Walter, had serious reservations regarding the merger. Just a mere couple of years ago, HP acquired 3Com for a staggering $2.7 billion in cash-one of the biggest acquisitions by technology giants.
